A few years ago, he sang a song named “If I Were President”; now, it seems that the idea may come to fruition. The National Post cited Canadian newspaper Le Droit broke a story that Wyclef Jean is planning on running for President of Haiti. The National Post states:
We Are the World 25 for Haiti- After weeks of waiting, We Are The World 25 For Haiti debuted yesterday during the Winter Olympics opening . 25 years ago celebs recorded We Are The World, image below, to help Africa. 25 years later another country is struck with a disaster and celebs have come together to help Haiti. Also before you go take the time to visit We Are the World Foundation to donate or purchase the track. It is for a good cause and alot of people took the time out of their already busy schduletos to do something for a nation. So, it would not hurt us to spare a little to help make this change. Even with the rumors going on about Wyclef and his organization it is still good to give. When I sit down to give I know it comes from my heart. If the person that runs the organization is not doing what he is suppose to do that is on him not me. I have done my part.
