Watch out for strange injuries or symbols on the lips and arms of kids. That is one of the 5 orders subjected by the Government of Karnataka to school managements and teachers to deal with the Blue Whale Challenge, an online game that makes users to suicide.
Although no Blue Whale-associated disaster has been occurred in Karnataka, the department of education has made a decision to take no odds as suicides activated by the game are increasing all over the world. The first incident of accused Blue Whale suicide occurred in Mumbai on July 30, 2017 when a 14-year-old kid jumped from the 7th floor of a building to death.
Sowjanya A, the state public instructions commissioner, subjected an order directing parents and teachers to ring the alarm bell if they sense any tattoos or weird signs and injuries on bodies of the students, especially lips and arms. “This is the first huge hint about the defenselessness to the deadly game by the youngsters,” an official of department of education claimed. Keep an eye on kids
- Who continuously watches horror films
- Those who listen to bizarre and disturbing music
- Those who wake up at 4.20 am
- Those who publish depressing selfies and messages on social media
The Blue Whale Challenge, which allegedly sourced in Russia, dares kids to engage in a sequence of damaging behavior for more than 50 Days. Some of the challenges comprise injuring oneself by cutting the skin, visiting graveyards at night, isolating oneself, listening to disturbing music, viewing horror movies, and lastly, conducting suicide. Survivors claimed that they began playing the game post getting a modified link via social media and they discovered it hard to untie as their individual data were shared with the administrator of the game. A rescued victim of Blue Whale in Jodhpur claimed that she made an attempt to kill herself to defend her mother whose data was with the administrator of the game.
Sowjanya claimed in the order, “It is significant to spread awareness regarding the dangers related with the game and avoid lids from becoming victims to it.”
