Vivo, the Chinese smartphone maker, has allegedly slashed more than 60 employees from its office at Greater Noida. As per the reports, workers were not provided any prior notice and were just asked to leave the premises after lunch as there was not sufficient task for them. The workers also got into fight with guards and also harmed the property of the office.
As per a report by DNA, previous month also the firm fired roughly 700 employees and they were not provided any prior notice. After the event, the employees commenced protesting. The fight between employees and guards sustained for half an hour and the police had to interfere to handle the circumstances.
According to the report, Circle Officer-2 at Greater Noida, Nishank Sharma, verified that he requested the employees to not coddle in any type of fighting and also requested the firm to recover their policy of recruitment.
The administrators of the World Trade Centre business complex, on whose grounds Vivo has headquarter, also verified that the firm requested the workers to leave post lunch.
The report additionally says the firm administrators said that no notice was required since the workers were hired on contract basis before firing them. The administrators further added that the sacked workers assaulted the guards and also gone through the factory. The firm is now aiming to file an FIR in opposition to the workers for harming the property of the office.
The firm has also rolled out an official statement that reads, “With unremitting strategic and growth review, we seek at employing the right size in different divisions to enhance productivity. The cutoff is in progress with this business move.
