A Dutch-based firm has decided on building a futuristic project of flying car. They plan to sell it across various regions so that it can soar into the skies. The company named Personal Air and Land Vehicle (PAL-V) is the brainchild that has thought about developing the world’s first three-wheeled gyrocopter-type vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be able to carry about two people and fly across the skies as well as use the roads. PAL-V just wants to pimp people’s rides.
The company plans to commercialize the flying cars by the end of 2018 and it will start its final assembly by October. The car will use unleaded petrol for its two 100 Horsepower engines. It is expected to fly about 400–500 Kilometers and at an altitude of up to 11500 Feet. The vehicle can cover about 170 Kilometers per hour when on road.
According to the company officials, it will release about 50–100 vehicles in the first go. The flying car will not be available at an affordable price for sure owing to its technological advancement, for instance the PAL-V Liberty costs about 499000 Euros and PAL-V Liberty Sport costs about 299000 Euros. The driver has to own a driver’s as well as a pilot’s license when on duty. Keeping in mind that the car will be driven on the road, the company has designed its blades on top, which folds on just a click of the button like a bat’s wing. The gyroplane has its wings rotating based on the airflow and not on an engine. The car has a tilting system to maintain the gravity issues when on road. What’s more fascinating is that it has blades that can turn at zero speed and keep it from dropping down.
Currently, PAL-V plans to complete its flying car’s 150 flying hours test and also receive a certification from the Cologne-based European Aviation Safety Agency. Though the car may seem to be quite expensive still it will surely be worth every penny one spends on.
The future will have all the cars flying when the roads are full or vice versa. So let’s wait and watch what the future has got for us.
