Many automobile manufacturers have thinks off to focus on development of autonomous technologies and electric vehicles. This will leads to change game of in the transportation and mobility sector. Volvo Cars is one of those companies that have always been at the forefront of emerging automobile technologies.
The company has declared yesterday to recruit 400 engineers over next 12 months so that these engineers to assist in developing automobile safety, electric vehicles and autonomous technologies.
This will help to go long way with respect to these emerging automobile technologies. The company has also said that majority of the recruited engineers will work from its Gothenburg research and development centre.
The company has stated, “With this recruitment, Volvo will further strengthens its position in Western Sweden and establishes it as an emerging hub for automotive software engineering,”
Volvo has also said that a new research and development centre was being inaugurated in Lund, Sweden. In the initial phase, 35 employees will begin working from next month.
Peter Mertens, senior vice president for research and development at Volvo Cars said, “Volvo is an industry leader in autonomous drive technology, safety and electrification, we are strong desire to maintain and extent this leadership, for this we ensure that worlds best engineering talent with us. This new recruitment drive is a reflection of that ambition,”
Hakan Samuelsson, the chief executive of Volvo said, this April Company is going to experiment 100 autonomous cars in China, during this experiment local drivers will get to test the autonomous cars on public roads.
In India, the company is working on expanding its dealer network. It will have 20 dealers by the end of this year. Volvo India will also be launching six models by the end of 2016.
