RIYADH: On Wednesday, Britain’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Simon Collis did Haj after changing into Islam.
He was seen with his wife in the annual pilgrimage by wearing traditional white garments which compulsory to every Muslims is executed at least once in their lives.
Online potal has reported since 2015 Collis been in Riyadh as he posted, in capital of Arab kingdom. He became a first British ambassador who did Haj.
Collis married to a Syrian Muslim, Huda al-Mujarkech, he was before performing duties as Britain’s ambassador to Iraq, Bahrain and Syria. In 2012 he was throw out by Bashar al-Assad, a President when political relations misshapen in the name of the growing Syrian civil war.
Collis also performed duties in India, Yemen, UAE and Tunisia. He told that he change to Islam “after spending thirty years in the Muslim societies”.
