New Delhi: WhatsApp after being purchased by Facebook is continuously playing with number of features. Recently, it has added encryption to the messages and now it’s time for more. Some of the new features like voice mail or ‘call back’ is expected to be added soon. The Android and iOS users will get access to these features very soon.
According to PhoneRadar report, “‘Call Back’ feature added to WhatsApp will enable users to dial back without actually opening the WhatsApp.” This feature will show miss call notifications along with ‘call back’ button. The users need not to open Whatsapp to call again for the missed call. All things could be easily done from the home screen of the smartphone.
The iOS devices will also see this feature allowing the voice mail. The new buttons for ‘Send Voice Mail’ and ‘Record Voice Mail’ will allow users to send the voice mail in between the call itself. The company is mulling over video calling option and it will be rolled out in coming days.
PhoneRadar’s report added that “existing version of Whatsapp comes with features like document sharing and also support formats – VCF, PDF, DOCS, and DOCX. But now, Whatsapp will be bringing another interesting feature of ZIP file sharing in upcoming update where the actual files can be compressed. This will help in decreasing data usage indirectly.”
The end-to-end encryption for all its services was introduced this month by Whatsapp. This means that all the files and photos shared between two users could not be viewed by any third non-intended user, not even by Whatsapp. This creates user privacy, but generates trouble for government. The government cannot ask Whatsapp about a user data as Whatsapp itself couldn’t access it.
The new feature addition to Whatsapp is coming soon. The release date for these features is yet to be announced by Whatsapp officials.
