This weekend Alicia Keys announced her decision to part ways with her manager Jeff Robinson. Robinson has managed Keys since she was fifteen. According to all press releases, however it was a peaceful split and now Keys will be able to handle important decisions on her own regarding touring, film and TV deals, music licensing, sincing and songwriting.
Some have been speculating that it’s Keys relationship to Swizz Beats that fueled the end of the business relationship between Robinson and Keys. According to NecoleBitchie.com, Swizz is feeling pretty insecure in their relationship and is trying to gain more control of aspects of Keys life and career. The website is mostly a gossip column and rumor breeding ground though, so this blogger’s going to wait for more news to come around before jumping the gun and making any definitive statements. We can only hope that things are fine with the two, especially in the light of the breakup of Christina Milian and The Dream.
On a happier note, Robinson will be executive producing Keys new album though, so the music style we’re used to should stay the same.
